TIA radar operational

HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE KATHMANDU: The radar system of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) — the country’s only international airport — that was facing technical problem for last two days has been solved today, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) officials.

“The radar has resumed its regular operations from today afternoon,” Mahendra Singh Rawal, director at the Communications Navigation and Surviallance (CNS) Department of CAAN said. “A technical team from TIA and JICA’s experts were involved in identifying and solving the problems,” he added.

Due to the technical problem in the radar system, Procedure Control Service (PCS) was adopted to assure the air safety for two days. “In the last two days, many flights faced the delay problem due to radar problem.”

No PM run-off after 17th round, says Nembang

HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE DHULIKHEL: Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang today said a new process will pick the Prime Minister if the 17th prime ministerial run-off fails to deliver. The winter session of the Parliament is beginning tomorrow and the 17th run-off is likely to take place on January 12. Inaugurating the seventh general assembly of the Rastriya Sahakari Bank in Banepa, Nembang said, On January 9, the House will schedule the 17th run-off for January 12, but that will be the last one.
