Outfit cadres held in Khotang
HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE KHOTANG: The police have detained two people alleging their association with CPN-Janayuba Maoist, an armed outfit. DSP Tek Bahadur Tamang identified the two as Raj Kumar Hingmang and Dipak Bhujel. Bhujel was detained from Khalle on January 1, while Hingmang was nabbed on Saturday from the district headquarters. Himgmang owns a photocopy shop in the district headquarters. DSP Tamang informed the police seized donation receipt pad, letter pad, identity cards and other documents from Hingmang’s shop.
Hingmang’s family claimed Hingmang had only typed and printed the documents of the outfit and had no connection with it. The recent donation drive of the outfit has unleashed terror among the government staffers and businessmen of the district, according to police officials. Ten days ago, the outfit had reportedly sent letters to these people, seeking a hefty sum in ‘donations’.
