Retired cop missing for four years
HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE RAJBIRAJ: The whereabouts of Raj Kumar Tamang, a retired head constable who was abducted four years ago while on his way to bordering Kunauli bazaar in Rajbiraj, are still unknown.
Mina Tamang (45), Raj Kumar’s wife, however, is hopeful that her husband will return home one day.
Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Group) had owned up to Raj Kumar’s abduction then. Mina informed that her husband had talked to her over the phone and asked her to collect Rs 4 lakh for his release, but the abductors had later agreed on a ransom of Rs 25,000.
“I had sent two locals with Rs 35,000, but I got the money back while my husband did not,” Mina said with tearful eyes.
Mina has two daughters and a son. Quoting
the Jwala Group, Mina said Raj Kumar had escaped. But he is yet to come home, she lamented.
