Cold claims lives of five in Bardiabas
RSS BARDIBAS: The death toll from the shivering cold has reached five in Mahottari.
Anarogya Dhankar, 50, of Belgachhi-5, Kushmadhiki of the district lost her life to shivering cold on Tuesday morning. With this, the number of people died here due to bone-chilling cold has reached five.
Dhankar, who belonged to hardcore poor family, died while shivering with cold due to lack of warm clothes to wear, said her neighbour Rama Dhankar.
On last Sunday too, a five-day newborn in Gaushala-1 and Ram Bahadur Pokharel, 82, of Kisanagar-9 died of shivering with cold.
Score of patients in village and town of the district district have immoderately gone up with thick fog and cold breeze occurring after the onset of January.
Elderly people along with children have been adversely affected from the rise in cold, according to district hospital.
