Four schools feted

HIMALAYAN NEWS SERVICE LALITPUR: Various national and international organisations today felicitated four schools in Lalitpur district for their remarkable performance in drinking water, health and sanitation sectors. Nepal Olympics Committee Vice President Ganga Thapa handed over a sound system each to Saraswoti Secondary School, Champadevi Secondary School, Bajrabarahi Secondary School and Padma Prakash Secondary School for conducting activities related to health and sanitation in Lalitpur district. The programme was organised by the International Olympics Committee, UNHABITAT and Stepping Stone. Students of 14 schools had conducted various sanitation activities near places with religious and social significance last year. Students had also carried out awareness raising activities on preservation of water sources. They organised street plays and rallies on sanitation. International Olympics Committee also handed over sporting goods like football, volleyball and badminton to all participating schools.
