School kids injured

PARBAT: Twelve students were injured, two critically, when the building of Lukhudeurali VDC-based Buddha Primary School in Parbat collapsed on Monday. The critically injured, Yabaraj Hamal and Anjali Sewa, are receiving treatment at Lukhu Primary Health Centre while the rest have returned home after primary treatment, Shyam Bahadur Nepali, a teacher, said. The cave-in occurred when classes were underway. Built 21 years ago, the school building was in a dilapidated condition. Teacher Nepali said the cave-in occurred because the school lacked funds to carry out repair work.

One missing in river

PARASI: Bimal Kumal (29) of Triveni Susta, Nawalparasi, went missing when a boat capsized in the Narayani River on Monday. Police said a search for the missing is on.

Suggestion to UML

RAJBIRAJ: Minister for Environment and a CPN-Sanyukta leader, Thakur Prasad Sharma, said on Monday CPN-UML should vote Ram Chandra Paudel, the sole candidate in the prime ministerial race, in the 17th run-off for Prime Minister. Speaking at a programme, Sharma called on the leftists and the rightists to unite to end the political crisis.
